Our services
Clinical
Assessment
If you wish to commence therapy, you will be required to have a clinical assessment. This takes about an hour and is an informal process where we take information such as your presenting issues, brief family history and any risks such as substance misuse. A clinical assessment is an important process in establishing the right intervention for you.
Individual
therapy
This is a safe space for you to look at issues you feel are having a significant impact on your day-to-day life. This can be present issues or issues from the past. We first complete a clinical assessment to establish the therapy goals and what specific issues you feel you need to work on. We can then decide if short term therapy (up to around 10-12 sessions) or long-term therapy is best suited to your needs.
Group
therapy
According to Yalom in The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy, “Many patients enter therapy with the disquieting thought that they are unique in their wretchedness, that they alone have certain frightening or unacceptable problems, thoughts, impulses and fantasies.” Group therapy can debunk that myth and give us the experience of connectedness. Why group therapy.
